And there is so much out there on survival readiness I am sure if I hadn't been into the preparedness stuff as long as I have I would be lost in the set up. Where would I start?
When we first moved to Florida it was really beautiful. We were not aware at the time of the storm season in the late spring. We had moved in October 1987 after the hurricane season had ended. Imagine moving from a desert to a tropic zone. Thankfully when hurricane season rolled around we didn't have to dig very far for information. There were survival guides available at the supermarket and every where we went it seemed. They had lists of survival supplies and suggestions to help us get through a serious storm.
We learned from our friends and neighbors how to throw a hurricane party! You had to make the best of it. If the storm was bad enough it could mean a serious calamity was on your doorstep.
Life's crisis aren't always storms. No matter the bad occasion, make it work by getting prepared. In a hurricane area you are aware a disaster is on it's way. The technology that is used to track storms these days is top notch. You can follow it through it's entire wake, if you are not in the center target area. The only thing these tracker's can't tell you is how badly your home and family might be affected by it.If only all emergencies and crisis could be tracked like hurricanes. We might be in better shape if we had a little bit of a warning. Don't wait for the warning signs. Get going on your Survival Recovery!
